I have been attending English tuition at Green House language since P4. The teacher, Mrs Huang, is an excellent teacher. She is very patient and caring. She even gave me one to one tuition and extra lessons when I needed them. Under her guidance, my English grades have improved, especially my compo. Mrs Huang will give me worksheets with new vocabulary which has helped me tremendously. In addition, she taught me answering techniques for the comprehension segment in paper 2. Eventually, her efforts paid off and I passed with flying colors, A* for my 2019 PSLE exam. I am very thankful to Mrs Huang .

我在绿苗语文中心上了很多年的补习课，老师们总是耐心地教我华文。除了在课堂上进行试卷二、作文、口试听力的练习，老师也会分发一些课后作业让我们完成。这对我有非常大的帮助。
我们会在课堂上完成作文，老师改完作文后会给我们讲解，使我们知道要怎样让作文写得更好。老师也会介绍一些好词佳句，让我们加强表达能力。因此，我小五、小六时的成绩有了显著的进步。
这次在小六会考考到了优秀的成绩，我非常开心，我很感激所有教过我的老师。

Chinese has never been my forte as I hardly speak Chinese at home. My very first Chinese language tuition started off at a popular Chinese language tuition centre. However, the environment there did not really suit me and I found myself struggling to understand what the teacher was saying. I often complained about going there, but thankfully, my mom transferred me to Green House.
Over here in Green House, the environment is very conducive for learning Chinese. The teachers are good and caring. The worksheets are also great. They have good notes for every Exam component, especially composition. I find that putting the techniques that Green House has taught me pulled my grades up. Green House also takes note of the student’s exam schedules and tailor the lessons accordingly. The teachers push us harder as the exams draw near.
With PSLE looming, I realised that attending tuition was not enough and I had to do some self-study. First of all, I started watching Chinese news everyday to help me in my oral. Next, as advised by Wang Lao Shi, I read more Chinese storybooks which helped me to improve my vocabulary and write better compositions. I also did many assessment papers for more practice. Finally I made sure to google for words which I did not know and noted them down to help me remember.
I would like to thank Wang Lao Shi for her patience, kindness and enthusiasm in teaching. It made a whole lot of difference in learning Chinese.
因为我在家里很少讲华语，所以我的华文一向来都不是很好。刚开始时，我到了一间著名的补习中心补习华文。但是，我不喜欢那里的环境，我也觉得老师的话非常难明白。因此，我常常抱怨要去补上习课，幸好我妈妈把我转送到绿苗语文中心上课。
绿苗语文中心的环境对我学习华文很有帮助。老师不但很友善，也很关心我们。 绿苗的作业对我们有很大的帮助。它们也有很好的参考资料，特别是作文。当我使用绿苗教我们的技巧写作文时，我的会考得比较好。绿苗也会配合学生们的考试日期，适当地调整课程的内容。当考试即将来临时，老师会鼓励我们用功读书。
当小六会考要来临时，我发现单靠华文补习是不够的，所以我决定自修。为了让我的口试进步，我开始每天看华文新闻。我也读一些华文故事书来增强我的写作能力。除此以外，我也做很多试题练习。最后，我上网，找出我不知道的词语的意思，然后把它们写在一张纸上，让我能记住它们。
我要感谢王老师的耐心，亲切和热情。让我学习华文时有个不同的体验。
我在绿苗语文中心上了三年的华文补习课，我的语文能力进步了许多。 这都归功于绿苗的老师们的友善和尽责。
绿苗给了我们许多参考资料和写作的练习。 这些资料中包括了一些好词好句，老师会教导我们怎样把它们用在作文里。 我觉得这个方法很有效，因为它扩展了我的词汇量，也让我比较仔细和准确地表达我想写的内容。 在口试中我也用了这些好词好句，我发现我能把想说的内容说得更清楚。
此外，如果有什么不明白的地方，下课后我就会留下来问老师。 而王老师每一次都会很耐心地为我解释，确保我理解得清清楚楚。而且， 老师把我的作文改完后就会仔细地告诉我我犯的错误。
考试要来临时，王老师也会教我应该要怎么样准备才能把所学词语和成语记下来并在考试中运用。而在‘O ’水准考试的前一个月，我也额外写了几篇作文。王老师不但愿意改我的那些作文，课后她也会告诉我我作文中的长处和短处，并且教我怎么把作文写得更好。
最后，在王老师的指导和帮助下，我终于在‘O’水准华文考试中考到了A1。在此，我要特别感谢绿苗和王老师对我的帮助。J

Tuition at Green House Language Centre helped me greatly in preparing for my O Levels Higher Chinese examination. In particular, my tutors at Green House taught me how to study for the examination and suggested specific methods and tools that I could utilize to improve on my Chinese.
My tutors at Green House encouraged me to read newspapers like My Paper and Lian He Zao Bao and to take note of useful phrases, current affairs topics and also each writer's style of writing.
For Paper 1, Green House provided me with resources, such as eloquent phrases and idioms, that I could memorize and use in writing compositions. My tutors also selected popular examination topics and helped us to plan some possible points or arguments we could make for these popular topics beforehand, so that we were adequately prepared for the paper.
For Paper 2, Green House drilled us using past year papers. My tutors helped me greatly in identifying my weak areas and to drill me on these to ensure that I improved on them.
绿苗语文中心的老师常告诉我：“一份耕耘，一份收获”，要考到好成绩绝非一朝一夕的事，需要长期不断地坚持努力。当我知道我的剑桥普通教育证书（普通水准）高级华文考到特优时，我感到十分惊讶。我从来没有想过我能考到如此不错的成绩。
绿苗的老师耳提面命，要我多阅读华文报纸，例如《我报》和《联合早报》，多注意热门课题，并掌握议论文的写作方法。老师也鼓励我多听华文新闻，以增加对时事的了解。
绿苗语文中心提供了很多好词佳句，让我背下来，以便在写作使加以运用。在准备会考之前，由于我手头上有丰富的资料：各种材料、新闻要点、范文等，写起作文来，自然感到得心应手。我也渐渐学会审题。绿苗的老师常常提醒我们：要“审题、审题、再审题”。练习审题，确保我在考试中能抓住重点，不会离题。
老师也鼓励我做历届考题，让我对会考的出题方式更熟悉，并确保自己能在两个小时内完成试卷。我最弱的部分是综合填空，所以我在这地方花了多一点时间。此外，我也尽量在课余多练习写作。特别令我难忘的，是绿苗的老师特地抽出时间，为我细心地批改这些作文。
因此，我能考到A1绝对不只是我个人的努力。谢谢绿苗的老师们！
